Acknowledging the impact of Black people and culture in the United States

Over the weekend a new Smithsonian museum opened that highlights the enormous influence African American culture has had on the U.S. The National Museum of African American History and Culture is a huge amount of information to digest, pulling on multiple emotions and memories of all who may attend. The NYTimes has a great review of the process to establish the museum, details surrounding its contents, and what realizations we as a country are forced to accept and celebrate.
